What is Canvas Envision used for?

Canvas Envision is used to create step-by-step work instructions. Authors export graphics and animations from the tool to embed within other content and create fully interactive digital work instructions using Canvas Envision. Canvas Envision provides a central platform to create, manage and consume content.

What sets Canvas Envision apart from other 3D authoring and Work Instruction applications?

Canvas Envision allows authors to create and publish high quality content quickly, integrate into an existing tech stack, and capture data and feedback from the frontline using a no-code approach. Canvas Envision embraces a model based and digital first approach to hardware documentation.

What kind of file formats does Canvas Envision support?

Canvas Envision is CAD agnostic and supports over 30 formats of 3D CAD, as well as multi-media support for text, image, vector, pdf and video. Canvas Envision allows users to export PNG, SVG, PDF and the native interactive format, EVDOC.

Is Canvas Envision easy to use?

Canvas Envision is highly optimized for ease-of-use for the author, with a modern user interface and very short learning curve for new users. The Canvas Envision AI assistant makes it easy to ask for help.

Is Canvas Envision a SaaS solution?

Yes, Canvas Envision is offered as a SaaS solution, Canvas Envision Pro is also available self-hosted OnPrem or in a Private Cloud.

What is Canvas Envision AI?

Canvas Envision AI is a chat assistant, "Evie", which assists authors in creating content using 3D models as well as text and 2D objects. Evie can accept attachments, such as PDFs and PNGs to build additional context. Evie can create content on behalf of the user from written or spoken natural language, as well as provide guidance on how to perform different actions. Evie is here to make content creation faster than ever.

Canvas Envision AI will be available starting November 2025.

What security measures are in place with Canvas Envision AI?

The Canvas Envision AI Assistant uses the Bedrock Sonnet AI model, by default, but also allows admins to "Bring Your Own Token" (BYOT). 3D models are never input into AI, customer data is always anonymous, and no user data is utilized for AI model training purposes.

Can I use Canvas Envision AI if I am self-hosted?

Yes, when used OnPrem admins will need to use the option to "Bring Your Own Token" (BYOT).
