A Guide to Interactive Digital Work Instructions in Modern Manufacturing

What's wrong with the status quo?

A 2022 survey of 500 U.S. manufacturing professionals revealed the following:

• 69% said products had been hit by errors or delays as a result of inaccurate, unclear or outdated documentation in the past two years.
• 70% said they frequently experience bottlenecks in the creation of instructional content
• 73% said documentation was too text heavy, and difficult for a diverse workforce to consume
• 59% said their company has difficulty ensuring documentation is updated as products change.

It is easy for sub-optimal and damaging processes to be accepted as "just how things are done." But sticking with outdated, ineffective, and unclear work instructions is something no manufacturing organization can afford to tolerate.
