A vector image is an image that can be resized without having any negative effect on the quality of the image. Vector images can go from being small (think Business Card Size) to large (think Billboard size) without becoming blurry or losing quality.

A Raster Image is an image that is static / fixed image consisting of a rectangular grid filled with pixels. Each of the individual pixels within the Raster Image consist of an individual color, which together, form the greater Raster Image. Raster images cannot be resized or scaled without losing quality.
